Erkaboy Masharipov was born on March 15, 1948, in the village of Hamza Shaykh, Tashkhauz region, Turkmenistan, into a farming family. He graduated from high school in this village in 1967. After school, he worked as a decorator at the musical comedy theater named after Ogakhi in the city of Urgench. He became a student of the People's Artist of Uzbekistan Lolakhon Abdullayeva, where he learned the secrets of visual art.
He served in the army from 1968 to 1970. After returning from military service, he resumed his work at the Ogakhi Theater in Urgench from 1970 to 1971.
Based on the knowledge he gained from his mentors and their recommendations, he was admitted to the Tashkent Art School named after Benkov, where he continued studying painting under the guidance of experienced teachers. In 1975, he successfully graduated from the school and returned to his homeland, the village of Hamza Shaykh, Tashkhauz region, Turkmenistan, where he continued working as a decorator at the Palace of Culture located in the district center.
Relying on the knowledge, skills, and experience he received from his numerous mentors, Erkaboy Masharipov decided to enter the Tashkent Theater and Art Institute named after Ostrovsky. In 1976, he became a student of the Department of Stankov Painting. During his six years of study, he actively participated in republic-wide art exhibitions. In 1982, he successfully defended his diploma project titled "Observation" and began creating a series of works while continuing his creative development.
In a short period, he created works such as "New Path," "First Caravan," and "My Villagers," along with a series of portraits of his contemporaries and landscapes of his native land. In 1990, Erkaboy Masharipov was admitted to the Union of Artists of Uzbekistan.
In 1995-1997, he organized an art club at the Tashkent State Institute of Irrigation and Water Management and began teaching the basics of visual art to interested youth. From 1987 to 1989, he taught his specialty at the Tashkent Cultural Education Technical School. In 1989, he was hired as a teacher of the Drawing Department at the Manan Uyghur Theater and Art Institute.
During his pedagogical career, he actively participated in national and international art exhibitions. Erkaboy Masharipov participated in numerous national and international competitions, where he consistently won top prizes. In the competition dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of Alpomish, he became the winner by creating the image of Alpomish. He also participated in the competition dedicated to the 800th anniversary of Jaloliddin Manguberdi with his work on the same theme. In a competition dedicated to the life and activities of Amir Timur, he created paintings such as "Amir Timur's Victory over Tokhtamish Khan" and "Amir Timur and His Younger Son Umarshaykh Mirzo Bakhodir." These works are currently kept in the Museum of the History of the Timurids.
In 2003, for his participation in historical-themed competitions and for creating historical artworks, Erkaboy Masharipov was awarded the "Labor Glory" Order by the government.
Currently, Erkaboy Masharipov continues his professional activities, teaching many students the secrets of visual art.
